"...you'll never have to walk this road alone."
African Road
Sometimes the beautiful moments on this road are the small and unexpected ones.
The first time I went to Africa a very kind pastor took my husband and me on a Safari. I was so excited. My eyes were wide open looking between every tree to see the giraffes and antelopes, monkeys and elephants, and we saw some, and it was wonderful. But, for me, the most beautiful part of that safari was a small and unexpectant moment.
It happened when the old jeep we were in suddenly stopped. The African driver was talking to the pastor- and pastor to driver. I had no idea what they were saying but I was getting really excited because I was pretty sure there must be something big ahead maybe a lion- I thought. The pastor and driver got out of the jeep and motioned for us to get out. We grabbed our cameras, jumped out of the jeep, looked at them and then, looked where they were looking.......down. That jeep had stopped because right in front of it was a puddle. A puddle- and that puddle was filled, and I mean filled, with the most beautiful butterflies I have ever seen in my life. They were all drinking from it, there were so many of them. Each fluttering creature- on top of the other and the colors were like none I had ever seen. Then the pastor pointed down the muddy road and there was another puddle just as filled and another and another. I am so glad that jeep stopped!
We were in Rwanda Africa- where one of the worst genocides in history had taken place and yet, in that same place right in front of us, there it was this unexpected beauty. God has butterflies for you too on your journey, no matter how muddy the road, allow Him to stop you, look where He is looking.
